Now if concentration is applied on a minute portion of the vast essential, it will appear also as vast.

A most intense type of human activity is exhibited in running. Motion is intensified in speed, and speed is best expressed in running. The speed work is principally executed by the leg muscles. Therefore the legs are apparatuses of intense activity. The energy of the body in motion in the form of extreme speed manifests through the legs. All the vital organs of the body—respiratory, circulatory, glandular, and nervous—take part and cooperate with the muscular system. In a word, the whole body functions in a specific way to support the action executed by the legs.

For this purpose the tongue is first made soft and elongated by the process of milking, stretching, and cutting. Milking is the pulling of the tongue wrapped with a fine wet cloth. It is also stretched in all directions to make it supple. Finally, the frenum linguae is gradually cut with a suitable instrument according to a particular method. In this way the tongue should be fit for the work. Khecarī consists of the following stages: first stage—Anal Lock; second stage—inhalation and breath suspension; third stage—Chin Lock; fourth stage—closing of the rima glottidis by the retroverted tongue.
